Man, 43, found fatally shot in head in Brooklyn building hallway

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police are investigating after a man who was found fatally shot inside the hallway of a Brooklyn residential building, last week, authorities said Monday.

At approximately 12:40 a.m., on Thursday, May 11, police responded to a 911 call of a man shot inside of 1550 Sterling Pl. in Crown Heights, officials said.

Upon arrival, officers observed 43-year-old Durell Falero within the first-floor hallway, with a gunshot wound to the head.

EMS transported the victim to NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County in critical condition and was pronounced deceased on Friday, May 12.

The incident has been deemed a Homicide.

There have been no arrests made, and the investigation remains ongoing at this time.
