Man, 73, placed in chokehold, punched in Brooklyn robbery, suspect at large

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The NYPD released video footage of a suspect wanted in a violent robbery of a senior inside a Brooklyn building on Sunday, authorities said.

At approximately 2:20 p.m., a 73-year-old man was approached by the suspect inside of a residential building in the vicinity of Hooper Street and S. Fifth Street in Williamsburg, police said.

According to officials, the suspect put him in a chokehold and threw him to the ground.

The suspect then punched the victim in the head and went through his pockets, stealing his wallet from his pocket, the NYPD said.

The wallet contained a debit card and $60 dollars, cops said.

The suspect fled on foot in an unknown direction.

The victim refused medical attention.
