NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police are searching for a man who punched a woman after grabbing her buttocks and stealing her purse at a subway station in Midtown Manhattan this week.
The 28-year-old victim was in a stairwell at the 42nd Street–Bryant Park/Fifth Avenue station around 11:15 p.m. Wednesday when the man came up and groped her backside.
He then snatched her purse and punched her in the head, police said.
The victim was transported to Mount Sinai West in stable condition.
The suspect fled the station on foot with her purse.
