
NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Two NYPD officers rescued a man who was found lying on the subway tracks at a Manhattan station on Christmas Day, officials said.
Police responded a 911 call of a person on the tracks at the Second Avenue subway station in the East Village, authorities said.
According to police, Officer Marmolejos and Officer Mendez discovered the man lying face up at the station's southbound F track.
The officers jumped onto the tracks and were able to carry him to safety.
"We commend their bravery and professionalism," the NYPD's 9th Precinct tweeted.
The man was was transported to an area hospital for evaluation.
There were no injuries reported.
