Cops searching for man who hit woman, 67, in head with rock on West Village street

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Police are searching for a man who hit a 67-year-old woman in the head with a rock as she walked down a Manhattan Street last week.

The NYPD circulated images of the suspect on Tuesday.

The woman was walking near the intersection of Seventh Avenue and 14th Street in the West Village around 9 a.m. on Thursday when the stranger attacked her, officials said.

The man fled on foot after hitting her in the head with the rock, according to authorities.

The victim was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Officials did not say what condition she is in, though.
