Police released video earlier this week of the suspect riding a motorized scooter around the time of Saturday morning’s attack in Inwood.
A 35-year-old woman was jogging in Fort Tyron Park, near Henry Hudson Parkway and Tryon Place, just before 11 a.m., when a man dragged her behind a tree by her hair, punched her in the face and threatened her with a knife, police said. He then sexually assaulted her and stole her watch and cellphone. The victim was hospitalized with injuries to her left eye, left arm and right leg.
Now police believe the same man sexually assaulted two other joggers in their 20s in the days leading up to that attack.
On the morning of Sept. 18, a 22-year-old woman was jogging on the Hudson River Greenway, near W. 163rd Street and the Henry Hudson Parkway in Washington Heights, around 12:30 p.m. when a man grabbed her buttocks.
Four days earlier, around 12:30 p.m. on Sept. 14, a 28-year-old woman was jogging at Fort Washington Park, near W. 163rd Street and Riverside Drive in Washington Heights, when a man came up and told her he had a gun. He forced the victim to lie on the ground and then grabbed her buttocks, police said.
The NYPD described the suspect as a tall, slim man in his 20s with a dark complexion. He was last seen wearing a black hoodie with white lettering on the back reading, “Honor Thy Gift.”
