Man punched in face, robbed while waiting for Brooklyn subway train; suspect sought

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A man waiting for a train in a Brooklyn subway station was punched in the face by a stranger who stole his cellphone, police said Friday.

The NYPD released surveillance images showing the suspect in Tuesday morning's violent robbery at the Atlantic Avenue–Barclays Center station in Park Slope.

The 33-year-old victim was waiting for a southbound R train at the station around 2 a.m. when another man came up from behind him and punched him in the face, police said.

The thief then stole the victim’s phone and ran off.

The victim suffered injuries to his eyes. He was taken to New York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.
