NEW YORK (WCBS 880) -- A man put a knife to a woman’s throat as he robbed her at an apartment building on the Upper West Side, police said Tuesday as they released video of the suspect.

The 22-year-old woman was entering the vestibule of a building on W. 101st Street, between West End Avenue and Broadway, on the evening of Jan. 10 when the man tried to rob her, according to police.
The man grabbed the woman’s cellphone and she fought back, police said.
The thief then took out a knife and put it to the woman’s throat, according to police.

The man ultimately ran off two blocks north to the 103rd Street subway station, police said. A surveillance camera later captured him at W. 40th Street and Eighth Avenue in Midtown.
The woman was not physically injured in the attack, police said.
