NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A woman was robbed and sexually assaulted in Brooklyn early Friday morning and police are looking for the man responsible.

The 54-year-old victim was walking in front of 725 Saint Marks Ave. in Crown Heights around 2 a.m. when the suspect approached her in a dark-colored SUV, authorities said.
After asking the victim if she wanted a ride, the suspect got out of the car and hit her in the abdomen when she declined his offer. He then stole her purse which had her cell phone and personal papers in it before fleeing the scene, according to police.
The victim continued walking home when the suspect came back and stopped her in front of 1477 St. Mark’s Ave. and sexually assaulted her before fleeing the scene, officials said.
On Saturday, the victim went to Brookdale Hospital where she was treated and released.
The suspect is said to have a dark complexion, 185 pounds, about 5'8" to 5'10" tall, brown eyes, with a mustache and short dark hair. He was last seen wearing a black baseball cap, blue jeans and a t-shirt.
The case is being investigated by the Brooklyn Special Victims Squad. Anyone with information in regard to this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
