NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- An investigation was launched by NYPD's Hate Crimes Task Force after a suspect was seen drawing a swastika in a Staten Island parking lot earlier this month, officials said.

According to officials, the incident occurred on March 1, 2022, at approximately 9 p.m., in the parking lot of the Retro Fitness Underground Park located at 2590 Hylan Boulevard in New Dorp.

The suspect drew a swastika on a parking lot support beam before fleeing the scene in a dark grey Infiniti G37 4 door sedan, authorities said.

The investigation remains ongoing by the Hate Crimes Task Force.
