The violent confrontation happened at the B & G Hand Car Wash on E. Tremont Avenue in the Van Nest section on the afternoon of Oct. 17.

The customer was using a vacuum cleaner in his vehicle when the 26-year-old worker told him that only employees can handle the equipment.

The customer angrily left the location, only to return 30 minutes later with a gun, police said.

He shot the worker in the leg and then fled the area, according to police.

The worker was taken to Jacobi Medical Center in stable condition.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
