Man shoved to ground, robbed on Queens street dies days later: NYPD

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A man died five days after he was shoved to the ground and robbed on a Queens street, officials said Tuesday.

Police have now deemed the attack a homicide.

According to the NYPD, 38-year-old Jose Luis Figueroa was talking to the suspect at the corner of Jamaica Avenue and 132nd St. on Monday, February 14, at approximately 8 p.m.

The suspect then pushed Figueroa to the ground causing him to hit his head and become unconscious, authorities said.

The suspect then went through the victim's pocket and removed his personal property before fleeing on foot to parts unknown, the NYPD said.

Figueroa was taken to Jamaica Hospital where he was initially listed in critical condition. He succumbed to his injuries on Saturday, Feb. 19.

The suspect is described as a male with a dark complexion, approximately 30 to 40 years of age.
