Man stabbed in stomach on UWS street in random attack, suspect sought

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Officials are searching for an attacker who they said randomly stabbed a man in the stomach on the Upper West Side Tuesday night, authorities said.

According to police, the victim was standing on the sidewalk near Broadway and West 82nd Street at approximately 9:30 p.m. when he was stabbed in a random attack.

The victim was transported to St. Luke's Hospital and is expected to survive.

The NYPD describe the attacker as a white man in his 30s. He was last seen wearing a gray sweatshirt.

An investigation remains ongoing.
