
NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) -- A man was stabbed to death on a D train at the Barclays Center subway station in Brooklyn on Thursday night, police said.
The 18-year-old victim was aboard a Manhattan–bound train in Park Slope shortly before 11:30 p.m. when another man got into an argument with him.
During the quarrel, the man brandished an unknown weapon and stabbed the victim in the abdomen, police said. He then fled the transit system.
Officers responding to a 911 call found the mortally wounded victim at the Barclays Center station.
EMS transported him to New York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The victim's name has been withheld pending the notification of his family.
No weapon has been recovered or arrests made, police said Friday as the investigation continued.
Transit crime was up 13.9% in March compared to March 2022, according to NYPD stats released Thursday.
