Man steals backpack from woman, 67, who fainted at Queens subway station

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A man robbed a woman of her bag after she passed out at a Queens subway station and then used her credit card to buy food at a Harlem burger joint, authorities said.

The 67-year-old victim fainted around 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 7 inside the Queens Boulevard and Grand Avenue subway station in Elmhurst, police said.

While she was unconscious, the thief stole the victim’s backpack with her credit cards, ID cards and house keys before fleeing the station, according to officials. She was taken to Long Island Jewish Forest Hills Hospital in stable condition.

The next day around 8 a.m., the thief used the woman’s credit card to buy food at Jumbo’s Hamburger Place at 274 West 145 Street in Harlem. He was caught on surveillance video eating the food he used the stolen credit card to purchase, cops said.

The man is described as being about 50-years-old with a dark complexion, medium build and facial hair. He was last seen wearing a blue baseball hat with "BROOKLYN" on the front, a blue face mask, a black hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and carrying the victim's purple and white backpack.
