Man buying MetroCard at BK subway station drops wallet with $1K cash, thief snatches it

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Police are searching for a man who allegedly robbed a man of his wallet after it fell on the floor while he was buying a MetroCard in Brooklyn last month.

The 57-year-old victim was at the Wyckoff Avenue and Myrtle Avenue L train station just before 2 p.m. on Sept. 27 when he dropped his wallet while at the MetroCard machine, authorities said.

The suspect snatched the man’s wallet from the ground and stole the $1,100 cash from inside before fleeing the scene, according to officials.

No injuries were reported as a result of the incident.

The suspect is described as having a dark skin complexion, in his 30s with a thin build and last seen wearing a black hooded sweater, white t-shirt underneath, dark pants, white du-rag around his head and carrying a black book bag.
