TACO BELL BURGLARY: Man swipes $2K from register, stuffs loot in trash bag in early a.m. heist

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A man stuffed a garbage bag with thousands of dollars from cash register drawers at a closed Bronx Taco Bell last month, police said Thursday.

Police said the burglar used a key to get into the fast-food joint at 450 East 149th St. in Mott Haven on Jan. 11 around 6:15 a.m.

He then emptied the cash register drawers, which contained about $2,000 in cash, into the garbage bag and fled the scene.
