The man was at the 50th Street and Eighth Avenue subway station around 4:30 a.m. in the tracks when a southbound A train was pulling into the station, authorities said.

The conductor did see the man in the tracks and tried to stop the train but couldn’t in time and ended up striking him, police said.

Emergency responders transported the man to NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue in stable condition.

Cops said it is still unclear why the man was in the tracks but they do not suspect criminality.
