Police search for man who tackled, sexually assaulted woman on Brooklyn street

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – The NYPD released disturbing surveillance video on Thursday showing a man tackling and sexually assaulting a woman on a Brooklyn street earlier this week as authorities search for a suspect.

The 35-year-old victim was attacked on Stagg Street, near Morgan Avenue, in East Williamsburg around 8:10 p.m. Monday, police said.

The woman was walking southbound on Morgan Avenue when she noticed a man was following her. She turned westbound on Stagg Street, where the man continued to follow her, police said.

While on Stagg Street, the man tackled the woman from behind and forced her to the ground, according to police and video.

The man held the woman down, reached into her shorts and grabbed her buttocks, police said.

The man then fled the area, running eastbound on Stagg Street, according to police.

Police said the victim was not physically injured. She refused medical attention.
