
NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A 35-year-old man was assaulted and called anti-Asian slurs on a Brooklyn street last month and police are searching for the person responsible.
The incident happened on Dec. 3 around 4 p.m. when the victim was walking on Fleet Place and Willoughby Avenue in Fort Greene, authorities said.
A man approached the victim and made anti-Asian remarks and threatened to kill him before hitting him in the head with an umbrella, according to officials.
The victim sustained a minor injury to his forehead but refused medical attention. The incident is being investigated as a hate crime.
The man cops are searching for has a dark complexion, about 5'9" tall with a slim build. He was last seen wearing a black winter hat, a white face mask, a black bubble jacket with a hood, a black button-down shirt, black pants and white sneakers.
