The man trailed the 29-year-old woman out of the 2/3 line at the Grand Army Plaza station, on the north end of the park, around 12:15 p.m. Sunday, according to police.

The man began to masturbate in front of the woman as she was walking, police said.

He then forced her onto a bench and tried to sexually assault her, according to police.

He ultimately fled into Prospect Park through the Grand Army Plaza entrance.

Police didn’t say if the woman was physically injured in the attack.
