Aditya Vemulapati shoved Liliana Sagbaicela, 40, onto the tracks at the 4/5/6 platform at Union Square Station on Nov. 19, 2020 around 8:30 a.m.
She miraculously landed in between the tracks and the train passed over her as she lay flat, leaving her with only minor injuries.
Vemulapati pleaded guilty to attempted murder on June 9.
He’ll face five years of post-release supervision in addition to his eight-year prison sentence.
“Today’s sentence makes clear that we will hold accountable those who cause harm in our subway system,” said Bragg. “We will remain focused on those who harm straphangers just trying to commute to home or to work.”
