
NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A man attacked a subway rider with his backpack after the victim's bag brushed up against him as they walked down the stairs of a Queens station on Tuesday.
The 32-year-old victim was walking down the stairs from the mezzanine to a southbound E line platform at the Roosevelt Avenue/74th Street station in Jackson Heights around 5:30 a.m. when his bag accidentally brushed against another man, police said.
That's when the man struck the victim about the head with a backpack and fled to parts unknown.
Police said the victim sustained a laceration to the head and was treated on scene by EMS.
