
NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Police are searching for two suspects who fled after an off-duty NYPD officer was shot at on an Queens street early Wednesday, authorities said.
According to officials, at around 1:40 a.m., the officer was exiting his car near 23rd Street and 28th Avenue in Astoria when two men wearing black hoodies jumped out of a black sedan and approached him.
One of the men bean to open fire in his direction as the officer turned around, then got back in their car and fled the scene, the NYPD said.
The officer was not struck in the gunfire, police said.
No arrests have been made as of early Wednesday.
An off-duty NYPD detective and a gunman in a ski mask shot at each other in Queens on Tuesday morning, but it didn’t appear either was struck by gunfire, authorities said.
