NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — The 60-year-old fugitive wanted for stabbing two employees at the Museum of Modern Art on Saturday said he "lost it" when the victims denied him entry to see Van Gogh's "Starry Night."

Gary Cabana confirmed his involvement in the attack in a series of Instagram direct messages to a New York Post reporter on Sunday, but he defended his actions, claiming the 24-year-old victims conspired with a woman named "Barbara," who he claimed lied to have his membership at the historic museum revoked.
"The stabbed girls were in on the BACKSTABBING too," Cabana said in his message. "I don’t backstab, I do the frontside only."
"It’s a WOMAN SCORNED scenario front-to-back," he added. "And [Barbara] got help from the stabbed girls."
Surveillance video from the Saturday afternoon incident showed Cabana leaping over a desk in the museum's entrance and assaulting the victims after police said his membership had been revoked due to two recent incidents of disorderly conduct.
However, Cabana denied any previous incidents in his messages to the Post, claiming that a letter from the museum’s security director said he was "aggressive [and] disruptive" on Feb. 24 and last Wednesday.
When Cabana showed up at MoMA to see a movie, and when he was denied entry, he went into a fit, according to police.
"I was completely blindsided by the ‘letter’ from security without any meeting or consultation to explain my mental health situation and how important GREAT MOVIES are to my life," he added.
He then stabbed a male and a female employee, both 24, who were taken to NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue in stable condition.
In a post on his personal Facebook page, Cabana ranted about the "letter" he received, arguing that "words are sharper than knives."
"Bipolar is a tough road to h--," he said. "Dr. Jekyll to Mr. Hyde on the 2 ‘supposed’ days I ‘acted up: 2/24 +. 3/9. Total blind side when I got ‘the letter’ from Daniel P."
"NOTE to catty b--------s of the world, words are sharper than knives," he added. "THEN U get framed ind (sic) evicted from MoMA (not just the movies, ALL THE ART too by a bitter old woman who shushes U when U LAUGH during a comedy. She’s the menace, NOT ME."
Cabana even appeared to downplay the frightening scene at the museum, writing, "It wasn’t SCREAM 6 at MoMA it was poke poke poke wake-up call. y [sic] the frame job MoMA, get yer facts straight."
He also mocked police on Instagram and responded to commentators who urged him to turn himself in to police.
"They knew who I was all along but the morons wasted hours searching the museum when I was OBVIOUSLY LONG GONE with hundreds of witnesses WATCHING but no HEROES in the crowd that day," Cabana said in a since-deleted post.
"NYC has turned in to a bunch of MIND-YO-BIDNESS P------," he added.
The museum thanked the public for their "incredible support" on Sunday, adding that it would reopen on Tuesday as the search for Cabana continues.
