NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — The NYPD is looking for teen thieves on motorcycles who mugged three victims at gunpoint in back-to-back robberies in the Bronx Monday.
Two victims in the first robbery — a 34-year-old woman and a 26-year-old man— were at the intersection of Sedgwick and Hillman avenues in Van Cortlandt Village around 2:40 p.m. when five men on motorcycles approached them, pulled out a pistol and demanded their belongings, police said Wednesday.
The men grabbed a necklace off the woman's neck, demanded her cell phone, and also demanded money from the 26-year-old before fleeing eastbound on Sedgwick Avenue.
The crooks struck again less than an hour later, targeting a 21-year-old man as he walked near 238th Street and Bailey Avenue around 3:10 p.m.
Four men on two motorcycles approached the victim, pulled out a firearm, and forcibly removed his chain from his neck and cellphone
Nearly $5,000 worth of items were stolen in both incidents, police said. No one was injured.
The group is described as being around 16 to 18 years old and was seen riding on a red and black motorcycle and a black and yellow motorcycle.
Anyone with information in regard to this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS.
