
NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A 25-year-old motorcyclist died after he and the driver of a Dodge pickup truck collided on Staten Island Thursday night.
According to police, the victim was zipping north on Hylan Boulevard, nearing the intersection of Nelson Avenue, when he made contact with a late-model Dodge Charger driving south on Hylan Boulevard, towards Nelson Avenue.
The Dodge entered the intersection and attempted a left turn onto Nelson Avenue to proceed eastbound when both vehicles collided around 11:22 p.m.
Officers arrived to find the 25-year-old man with body trauma along Hylan Boulevard and Nelson Avenue.
He was rushed by EMS to Staten Island University Hospital's north campus, where he was pronounced deceased.
The 18-year-old pickup truck driver remained at the scene and was not injured.
There are no arrests, and the investigation remains ongoing.
The identity of the deceased is pending proper family notification.
