The worker, a 38-year-old woman, was found lying between tracks 10 and 11 around 8:20 a.m. at the transit facility on Jerome Avenue in Jerome Park, according to police and officials.
She was transported to Montefiore Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.

Police said she may have made contact with the electrified third rail, but the investigation is ongoing.
The employee is said to be Azure Forde, a train operator who joined NYC Transit in May.
NYC Transit President Richard Davey confirmed the death of a train operator, but he didn't go into details about the circumstances, only saying in a statement that an investigation has been launched.
“The Transit family is heartbroken to have lost a colleague as she was putting a train into service at the Mosholu Yard to help move New Yorkers, and we are conducting a thorough investigation to determine what happened,” Davey said.
