NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) -- Police released new surveillance footage Thursday of a suspect wanted for striking an NYPD officer with a BMW during a traffic stop in the Bronx last November.
The new video comes about two months after the officer was struck on the night of Nov. 22 as police tried to pull over a gray BMW M5 at Loring Place North and W. 183rd Street in University Heights.
Uniformed NYPD officers in an unmarked police car saw a man changing a license plate on the BMW and approached him just after 10:30 p.m., police said.
The first unmarked police car parked slightly in front of the BMW, while a responding unmarked police car parked slightly behind it.

As officers approached the vehicle, the man who was changing the license plate jumped into the driver’s side passenger seat. A second person driving the vehicle then rammed both cop cars, police said.
The BMW repeatedly reversed and accelerated “back and forth” into the cop cars, according to police, who said six civilian vehicles were also damaged in the chaos.
Officers called for backup, and as one officer exited a marked police car, the BMW reversed and struck him, police said.

The BMW driver then drove onto a sidewalk and fled the area, according to police.
The injured officer was transported in stable condition to Montefiore Medical Center. He suffered an injury to his right knee.
No other injuries were reported in the confrontation.
The BMW was later found abandoned and unoccupied near the intersection of While Plains Road and Morris Park Avenue in the Van Nest section of the Bronx.
The NYPD previously released footage of the second man sought in the incident. It's unclear who of the two is the suspected driver.
