NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) -- Police nabbed a New Jersey man over a year after he allegedly disguised himself in religious garb and shot a Georgia man in a broad-daylight, execution-style murder in Queens.
Ron Reeder, 53, of Teaneck, was charged by the NYPD on Thursday with murder and criminal possession of a weapon following his Feb. 23 arrest in New Jersey, where he faces numerous charges in a bust involving weapons, drugs, identity theft and financial crimes.
Police haven’t said how or when investigators connected Reeder to the Sept. 6, 2021, murder of Jermaine Dixon, 46, on a South Ozone Park street.
Horrifying video captured the moment a masked, hatted and gloved gunman disguised in traditional Hasidic garb ambushed and fatally shot Dixon as he returned to an SUV at South Conduit Avenue and 132nd Street around 8 a.m.

Video shows the gunman pretending to work under the hood of a white Nissan sedan. When Dixon arrives, the killer grabs a gun from the engine, runs up from behind and shoots him repeatedly at point-blank range.
Dixon, of Loganville, Georgia, was pronounced dead at the scene.
At the time, sources told the New York Post that the gunman planned to steal $10,000 from Dixon but fled before grabbing the cash. The Daily News reported Thursday that investigators believe the killing was a planned hit linked to the drug trade.
Dixon had been released early from federal prison after doing time on drug charges. He was staying at a motel steps away from the shooting scene.
