
NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A New York man was arrested Tuesday in connection with the death of his mother at her New Jersey residence, Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone said.
Jason Gordon, 41, was arrested without incident in Philadelphia with the assistance of East Brunswick and Philadelphia police departments.
Gordon had been charged with murder, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and unlawful possession of a weapon on Friday, according to prosecutors.
Just after 11 p.m. on Dec. 22, the East Brunswick Police Department responded to a 911 call requesting a welfare check to an address on Cozzens Court in the Crosspointe condominiums, police said.
Officers located the body Carmen Gordon, 68, of East Brunswick, inside the residence with fatal injuries, authorities said.
She was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Investigators charged the victim's son, 41-year-old Jason Gordon, of New York, after he was identified as a suspect.
An investigation remains ongoing.
