NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Mayor Bill de Blasio wants to see whole families get vaccinated together now that children between the ages of 12 and 15 can get the shot.

To sweeten the deal, the mayor unveiled a number of family incentives.

"A whole family can go to a vaccination site together, we want to encourage that and we want to incentivize that," de Blasio said during his briefing Thursday.

A new vaccination site opening Thursday at the Brooklyn Children's Museum will offer free same-day admission as well as a family pass for a future visit with the shot.

"It combines vaccination in a really encouraging, positive place. The whole family can be there, but it also incentivizes folks because you get to enjoy the museum then and another opportunity after that," de Blasio said.

On Friday, visitors can get their shot at the Bronx Zoo and a free ticket for a future visit.

There are also plans to set up a vaccination site at the New York Aquarium in Coney Island.

"This is the kind of approach that will really encourage families to come on out together," de Blasio said. "This is a great way to make vaccination even more fun, make it something for the whole family, make the whole family safe."

A site previously set up at the American Museum of Natural History is also offering shots to children as young as 12.
