The officer, a member of the housing bureau, was responding around 11:15 a.m. Sunday to a call from a mother who said her emotionally disturbed son was missing after threatening suicide by cop.
The mother said her son had last been seen at the Myrtle–Willoughby Avenues station in Bedford-Stuyvesant.
When officers arrived at the station, they found the teen at the edge of a G-line platform.
When one of the officers approached, the teen pulled a knife from his sleeve, ran at the cop and slashed him across the ear, police said.
The teen was arrested. He faces charges of assaulting an officer and criminal possession of a weapon.
The officer was taken to NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue, where he received seven stitches, according to the New York Post.
