NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – An NYPD officer was among at least two people hit by pellets as someone fired a BB gun on a Brooklyn street on Saturday evening, police said Sunday.
The pellets were fired near the Brownsville Houses at Blake Avenue and Mother Gaston Boulevard in Brownsville around 5:40 p.m.
Police said a 49-year-old man was struck in the head with a BB gun pellet.
Another pellet shattered the driver-side window of a Honda Accord, according to police.
An NYPD officer who was responding to the incident was struck on the right side of his neck by a pellet, police said.
The officer suffered minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital before being released.
A witness told the Daily News that the “BBs were coming out of nowhere from across the street.”
“It seemed like someone was shooting them out their window,” he said.
No arrests have been reported.
The BB gun shooting came a day after a city traffic agent was shot by a BB gun in Queens on Friday, according to the New York Post, which reported that the agent was issuing a parking summons in Far Rockaway when he was hit in the arm and leg.
