NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — An off-duty NYPD traffic agent was arrested Monday in Queens after allegedly choking his girlfriend.

Shahidul Islam, 37, became angry during an argument with her, police told the New York Post.
The NYPD said late Monday that he was arrested within the confines of the 107th Precinct, which covers a portion of northern Queens and includes Fresh Meadows.
Islam is charged with criminal obstruction of breathing and harassment.
