Brooklyn Bridge lanes reopen after police activity shuts down part of span

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- All lanes on the Brooklyn Bridge reopened after a large police presence temporarily shut down part of the span during the Thursday morning rush.

Lanes on the Brooklyn-bound side of the bridge closed around 7:30 a.m. They reopened about an hour later.

Video appeared to show emergency responders on a cable of the bridge amid reports that someone had scaled the span. The outcome of the situation wasn't immediately known.

Drivers should expect residual delays. Before the bridge reopened, there was bumper-to-bumper traffic on the FDR Drive back to at least E. 20th Street. All Brooklyn-bound lower East River crossings were also jammed.
