Police seek man, woman and child who broke teen boy's leg in Bronx hit-run

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — The NYPD is looking for a man, woman and a young girl who fled after they hit a 13-year-old boy with the moped they were sharing in Mott Haven, police said Thursday.

The victim was crossing Brook Avenue at East 140th Street when the red-and-black moped slammed into him about 5:30 p.m. Aug. 18.

Police said the moped was traveling northbound on Brook Avenue against traffic at the time.

After the crash, the trio got back on the moped and rode away.

The boy sustained a broken left leg as a result of the collision and was transported to NYC Health + Hospitals/Harlem in stable condition, police said.

The driver is described as a heavyset man with facial hair and was wearing a green baseball cap, a white-and-black T-shirt, black pants and gray sneakers.

The woman is described as having light skin, a medium build and long brown hair. She was last seen wearing a black T-shirt.
