NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A 13-year-old Queens boy was arrested after he allegedly stabbed his sister in the chest with a steak knife, according to police.

The boy attacked his sister just after 7 p.m. at their home on 156th Street near 11th Avenue in Jamaica, officials said.

He allegedly called police to falsely report a break-in in an attempt to explain away his sister's condition, but she told law enforcement he attacked her.

Emergency responders brought her to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center with a collapsed lung in critical but stable condition.

The siblings were home with their eight-year-old brother while their father was away and their mother was working nearby, authorities said.

Police charged the young teen with assault. His identity will not be released due to his age.
