"The defendant, who pleaded guilty, is responsible for a brutal act of domestic violence that resulted in the death of his wife and mother of his three children," Katz said. "He will now serve a lengthy prison sentence imposed by the Court as punishment."

Manuel Villar, 52, of Arverne, a neighborhood next to Far Rockaway, confronted his wife Ivette Villar around 1:30 a.m. on Sept. 24 in their home, accusing the 43-year-old of cheating, officials said.

Manuel then stabbed Ivette in the neck and head before fleeing from the house, eventually calling 911 hours later. During the 911 call, Manuel admitted to the operator that he’d stabbed Ivette and gave them his location. Officers recovered a knife from his vehicle, court documents show.

Villar entered a guilty plea to first-degree manslaughter in June before Queens Supreme Court Justice Michael Aloise, who sentenced his prison term and ordered five years post-release supervision.
