NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A Queens teacher was arrested after he allegedly sent sexual texts to a former teen student last month, authorities said Wednesday.
It was reported to police that 25-year-old Shahiem Willis exchanged text messages of sexual content with a former 16-year-old male student between Wednesday, July 19, and Thursday, July 20.
Willis, an English Language Arts teacher, was arrested just after 7 a.m. on Tuesday, August 8, officials said.
He was arrested with the NYPD's 107th Precinct, which covers Fresh Meadows, Cunningham Heights and Hilltop Village, police said.
Willis was charged with acting in a manner injurious to a child.
An investigation remains ongoing.
