NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) -- An 18-year-old man on an electric scooter was killed in Queens on Monday night when he fell into the path of an MTA bus and was run over, police said.

The NYPD responded to a call about the crash around 9:30 p.m. at 168th Street and 89th Avenue in Jamaica, where officers found the victim lying on the roadway with trauma to his head and body.

The 33-year-old operator of the bus remained at the scene. No one on the bus was injured.

EMS rushed the scooter rider to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. He was identified as Saad Mohammed, of Howard Beach.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
