NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) -- A Manhattan woman was stabbed by a knife-wielding man as she was taking out trash last week, police said Wednesday as they released images of a suspect.

The attacker said nothing to the 32-year-old victim as he plunged a knife into her shoulder last Tuesday night near East 102nd Street and Lexington Avenue in East Harlem, according to police.

The woman was putting garbage in front of a residential building at 8 p.m. when the man came up and suddenly knifed her.

The attacker fled on foot after the stabbing. He was last seen headed southbound on Lexington Avenue, police said.

EMS transported the victim to Mount Sinai Hospital, where she was in stable condition.
