NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A 20-year-old Queens man was arrested on Friday for fatally stabbing his mother and choking his father, according to police.
Police responded to a home on 191st Street near Station Road in Auburndale around 2 p.m., officials said. There, they found 60-year-old Hyun Sook Cho unresponsive with multiple stab wounds.
EMS rushed her to NewYork-Presbyterian Queens Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
The man’s 61-year-old father was also at the house with a cut to his hand and minor injuries around his neck, according to authorities. He reportedly refused medical treatment.
Dennis Cho, the couple’s son, was taken into custody at the scene. Police charged him with murder, weapons charges, assault, obstruction of breathing and related offenses.
Cho had a troubled history with his parents, according to reporting from the New York Daily News.
He was arrested in late December for punching his mother in the face and stabbing her in the foot with tweezers, court papers obtained by the outlet show.
