NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A COVID-19 outbreak is affecting the Staten Island District Attorney’s Office, where several people have tested positive.

A DA spokesperson said “over a dozen” employees within the office tested positive this week. According to SILive.com, it comes after a holiday party on Dec. 9.
“At this time, we have notified all relevant agencies that might have come in contact with our staff and have taken a number of steps in accordance with Health Department and CDC guidelines to contain and reduce the spread,” a DA spokeperson said in a statement to the Post. “All bureaus remain fully staffed and functional.”
Sources told the outlet that all who tested positive were vaccinated.
It comes a day after reports of a COVID outbreak within the Manhattan DA’s Office following a holiday party of their own.
While Staten Island’s DA office said their bureaus remain “fully staffed,” the Manhattan DA outbreak hit an entire bureau, and was causing a backlog within the office, reports said.
New York City has seen a rapid spike in COVID-19 cases within the last week. City data shows a 6.51% positivity rate in the latest numbers, about double what it had been a week before.
New York State reported the highest number of daily COVID-19 cases Thursday since Jan. 14.
