SUBWAY ASSAULT: Rider, 66, slashed across face on Manhattan 6 train

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A man was slashed across the face on a moving subway train on Manhattan’s East Side early Thursday morning, police said.

The victim, 66, was on a southbound 6 train arriving at the 33rd Street station around 3:20 a.m. when another man suddenly attacked him.

The wounded rider got off the train at 33rd Street and was taken to NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue. His injuries were said to be non-life-threatening.

His attacker fled at the same station and was still being sought Thursday.

The suspect is believed to be in his 40s. No additional description or images of him have been released as police continue to investigate.
