Subway rider elbowed in head during Queens phone robbery

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The NYPD on Wednesday released video footage of a suspect they said elbowed a man during a robbery aboard a Queens subway train last week.

At approximately 6 p.m., on Sunday, Aug. 28, a 53-year-old man was approached by the suspect on a southbound 7 train approaching the Mets-Willets Point subway station in Corona, officials said.

The suspect stole the victim’s cellphone from his hands and elbowed him in the head before fleeing.

EMS transported the victim in stable condition to Long Island Jewish Medical Center for treatment.
