NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A subway rider’s nose was broken on a Bronx train in an unprovoked assault by a rambling man who thought he heard the victim “talking s***” to him.
The 39-year-old victim was on a 5 train in West Farms around 2 p.m. Friday when his attacker told him to “stop talking s***” and grabbed his cellphone.
He then threw the phone back at him and slugged him in the face, according to police.
A police source told the New York Post on Sunday that it was a random attack and that the suspect was “probably hearing something in his head.”
The victim was transported to St. Barnabas Hospital in stable condition.
The suspect fled at the West Farms Square–East Tremont Avenue station in West Farms and was still being sought Monday.
