NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) -- “Armed and dangerous” suspect Sundance Oliver surrendered to police after a shooting spree in Brooklyn and Manhattan left at least two people dead and a third wounded, including a 17-year-old girl who was fatally shot early Tuesday.

Oliver, who was out on parole, turned himself in at the 77th Precinct stationhouse shortly after 7 a.m. Tuesday, police said. Police had first identified the 28-year-old as the suspect Monday night and said he was considered "armed and dangerous."

“With the dragnet pulling tighter, Oliver turned himself into officers in the [77th] Precinct," NYPD Commissioner Keechant Sewell said in a press conference Tuesday afternoon. “This arrest was the culmination of several different investigative elements and solid police work."

"Today we begin the process of holding this brazen offender accountable for his actions," the commissioner added.

Chief of Detectives James Essig said Oliver surrendered to police after he was "actively sought by NYPD personnel after a three-day violent rampage" that "resulted in two homicides, one non-fatal shooting, one robbery and one assault, which was domestic-related."

His crime spree, which began Nov. 21, spanned across the Bronx, Brooklyn and Manhattan, Essig said, adding that on Monday, he began his "killing and bloodshed."

The most recent shooting in the "rampage" was just after midnight Tuesday morning. Police believe Oliver opened fire in a crowded, sixth-floor apartment on Kingsborough 7 Walk at the NYCHA Kingsborough Houses in Crown Heights.

A 17-year-old girl, later identified as Keyaira Rattray, was struck in the chest. She was rushed to Brookdale University Hospital Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.

Just hours earlier, around 9:30 a.m. Monday, at the Kingsborough Houses, a 96-year-old man sitting in a wheelchair and waiting for a bus was shot in the leg as a gunman, believed to be Oliver, tried to rob a woman at Bergen Street and Rochester Avenue.

The victim was transported to NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County. He's expected to survive his injuries.

In Lower Manhattan six hours later, a 21-year-old man was shot three times at 15 St. James Pl. in the NYCHA Alfred E. Smith Houses in Two Bridges around 2:50 p.m.

That shooting left the 21-year-old with two gunshot wounds to his chest and one to his leg. He was pronounced dead at NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue and later identified as Kevon Langston, of the Upper West Side.

After Oliver surrendered, Essig said he "became extremely violent" inside the precinct holding cells, "agitated," and "destroying property."

EMS personnel subdued him, and he's currently in NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County for evaluation.

At this time, Oliver is charged with murder, attempted murder, robbery, assault, menacing, second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, reckless endangerment and criminal possession of stolen property.

Both homicide victims were known to Oliver, but police said that the motives for the killings are still unknown. The investigation is ongoing.

Oliver was known to police with 12 prior arrests, including for criminal possession of a weapon, robbery and menacing. He was out on parole for robbery, police said.
