Suspect, vehicle sought in Queens shooting that left 3 women injured

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police on Friday released images of a suspected gunman and a vehicle they are looking to identify in a shooting that injured three women last month in Queens.

Just before 9 p.m. on Tuesday, January 17, the suspect exited a gray Chevy Malibu in the vicinity of 1425 Central Ave. in Far Rockaway where a memorial for a murder victim was taking place.

The suspect approached the location, displayed a firearm and discharged it multiple times at an unknown target, officials said.

The first victim was a 26-year-old woman who sustained a gunshot wound to the right leg, police said.

The second victim, a 48-year-old woman, was shot in the right leg and the third victim, a 46-year-old woman, suffered a gunshot wound to her left foot.

All three victims were transported by EMS to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center in stable condition.

The gunfire also struck the front of 1425 Central Avenue, as well as the storefront of a nearby commercial establishment, according to the NYPD.

The first two victims were attending the event at the incident location at the time of the shooting, authorities said.

The third victim was not affiliated with the event and was walking on the sidewalk across the street., cops said

The suspect fled back into the gray Chevy Malibu. It was last seen fleeing on Bayport Place to parts unknown.

The driver of the vehicle and another unknown passenger are also being sought in connection to the shooting, police added.

A preliminary investigation determined that the suspect that discharged the firearm frequents the Ocean Bay Houses at 51-32 Beach Channel Drive.
