VIDEO: Suspects flee on scooter after attempted jewelry robbery on Bronx street

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The NYPD released video footage on Thursday of two suspects sought in an attempted armed robbery that occurred in the Bronx earlier this week.

It happened at about 7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 28, in the vicinity of East 162 Street and Sheridan Avenue in Concourse Village.

According to police, a 45-year-old man was approached by the suspect who displayed a firearm and attempted to forcibly take his necklace from his neck.

The victim fought the suspect who then fled the location on the back of a scooter that was driven by another unidentified person eastbound on East 162 Street, authorities said.

The victim sustained minor injuries and refused medical attention on scene.

The first suspect is described as a man with a dark complexion, approximately 20 to 30 years of age, 5'10" - 6'0", slender build and short black hair. He was last seen wearing a red hooded sweatshirt with white letter affixed to the front of it, black sweatpants, sandals and a black baseball hat.

The second suspect is described as a man with a dark complexion and slender build. He was last seen wearing a gray sweatshirt, black pants, red baseball hat and a black mask.
